The book I'm reading instead of Breaking Through is Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl. This book is a true story about a young girl Anne living in Amsterdam Holland with Nazis occupying Holland in 1942. She keeps a diary of her daily life, for 2 years she goes in hiding in a place called the "Secret Annexe" a small old office building. They're also living with another family named the Van Daans in the secret annexe. The reason why they go into hiding is because of the war they're having, Germans arrived in Holland and thats when Jews were suffering. All Jews had to wear a yellow star to distinguish them from the others, Jews were forced by the Germans to wear the star. Jews were banned to do a lot of things.
They only had limited rights on what they could do and couldn't do for example, Jews were only allowed to shop between 3 & 5 , and they were banned from trams and were forbidden to drive. Their freedom was strictly limited. I think that's wrong what Hitler did and the Germans to give them limited freedom. No one should be treated like that, the Germans were strictly obeying Hitler's orders but Hitler was a crazy man. Living in Anne's situation must have been difficult, hiding for 2 years, whispering all day, being bored and having nothing to do, her life must have been dull and boring for her, but for us it's another opinion and an amazing story about a girl living in the days of the World War II. Me reading her diary i kept thinking, wow she had to do this for 2 years, not being in contact with the outside world. Her diary looked like she knew her diary was going to be published as a book. It's so weird because it sounds like your in the story.
